Thanks Carla:-) I finally got the opportunity to snap a shot of this little guy! I've always thought it was the same couple coming here for the last three years. However, I read this morning that the typical life span of a Cardinal is a little over a year and in a few cases they have been known to live in the wild for as long as thirteen years? I guess I'll never know if they are the same two. I'd like to think so. I was shocked when I also read that in the 1800's they were shipped over seas, caged and kept as pets. I love the fact that when they sing, they sing the same song and they sing it together. Unlike other birds, were the male leads the song and the female follows and answers to his.
